Iolani Palace was the residence of the royal families from the former Kingdom of Hawaii starting with Kamehameha III (1845) and ending with Queen Lili’uokalani (1893).The palace has been renovated and is open to the public. Located in Honolulu, this royal palace is now a museum and is open year-round Monday – Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. You can take a self-guided tour via headsets. We recommend you purchase tickets in advance during the busy tourist seasons. I’ve been to many palaces around the world and I have to say that the decor in this palace is a bit more laid back and more my style – while still being elegant.

Rumor or Fact? Mark Zuckerberg Buys Kahuaina Plantation
Rumor has it that Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg is buying Kahuaina Plantation. This is a massive estate on Kauai consisting of 357 acres on the north shore.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Hawaiian Home is for Sale
If you’re in the home for a luxury estate on Kauai, you’re going to love Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Hawaiian home. This 7’2″ tall man had extra high doorways and ceilings added which someone such as myself can appreciate. I’m actually just a foot shorter than this former NBA star. Jabbar had the home built, but is not the current owner which is Jim Parsons, actor in “The Big Bang Theory.
The home sits on a 3 acre gated community and is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath home consisting of a whopping 6,000 square feet. Your guests or a caretaker can stay in the one bedroom carriage house.
